Brand Guidelines

Introduction

The Brand Guidelines skill is an essential tool for developers and creators looking to maintain a professional and cohesive visual identity. This skill automates the application of Anthropic’s official brand colors and typography to any generated artifact, ensuring your output matches the company’s high design standards.

By integrating this skill into your workflow, you can instantly upgrade the aesthetic quality of presentations, documents, and UI mockups. It solves the problem of manual styling by providing a consistent corporate identity through:

  • Official Color Palette: Access to primary, secondary, and accent colors.
  • Typography Management: Automatic application of Poppins and Lora fonts.
  • Visual Hierarchy: Intelligent font sizing and color selection based on content type.
  • Smart Adaptability: Built-in fallbacks for environments without custom fonts.

Installation

To use this skill within your Claude Code environment, you need to ensure your local system is prepared to handle the specific design requirements.

  1. Font Setup: For the best visual results, pre-install the following fonts on your system:

    • Poppins (for Headings)
    • Lora (for Body Text)
  2. Dependencies: This skill utilizes the python-pptx library for processing documents. Ensure your environment has the necessary Python packages:

Terminal window
pip install python-pptx
  1. Skill Configuration: Add the skill to your Claude configuration by referencing the brand-guidelines name in your skill definitions.

Usage

Once installed, you can trigger the Brand Guidelines skill by asking Claude to apply styling to an artifact or by requesting a document that follows company design standards.

Example Prompts

  • “Apply the Anthropic brand guidelines to the presentation I just created.”
  • “Format this report using official brand colors and typography.”
  • “Create a visual artifact for this data using the corporate color palette.”

Technical Application

The skill operates by injecting specific RGB color values and font families into your artifacts.

  • Headings: Automatically set to Poppins (24pt+) with an Arial fallback.
  • Body: Automatically set to Lora with a Georgia fallback.
  • Colors:
    • Dark: #141413 (Primary text/backgrounds)
    • Light: #faf9f5 (Subtle backgrounds)
    • Accents: Cycles through Orange (#d97757), Blue (#6a9bcc), and Green (#788c5d) for non-text shapes.

Tip: If you are working in a restricted environment where custom fonts cannot be installed, the skill will gracefully degrade to system-standard fonts like Arial and Georgia while maintaining the official color scheme.
